You must have heard of Ginkgo trees. Ginkgo is probably my favorite tree ever. The name is in Japanese, but the tree itself is chinese.

Ginkgo biloba is a unique species of tree with no close living relatives. Ginkgo is a lonely tree. Maybe not lonely, but alone.

It has beautiful colors in autumn. Mamie showed me that she has one ginkgo tree. The shape of the leaves resemble the shape of a chinese fan. And it has the brightest yellow color compared to the other trees in Mamie’s garden. Eventhough some of the leaves are still half green.

Do you know that a Ginkgo tree survived the bomb in Hiroshima ? All around the tree were destroyed, but the tree itself grew perfectly until now. Japanese people consider the tree as sacred.

I want to be like a Ginkgo tree.

Alone and strong.
